Use of Institutional Controls to Facilitate Site Closure
January 19, 2022 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Intuitional Controls (ICs) are property or governmental controls that are used to manage risks and/or control potentially complete exposure pathways. Obtaining Site Closure through regulatory agencies doesn’t necessarily mean complete clean up to non-detect levels. As complete cleanup would be impracticable due to cost and timing limitations, using ICs is one tool that may be used to expedite Site Closure. Common ICs include deed restrictions (sometimes referred to as Environmental Restrictive Covenants, or ERCs) and environmental ordinances. This webinar will include a discussion on the various types of ICs and the use of ICs to expedite Site Closure.
