The Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA), also known as “Superfund” has been a part of this nation’s response to hazardous waste site contamination since 1980. In this webinar we will explore the history of CERCLA, look at the types of sites that may be entered into the CERCLA program, discuss the basic steps of site investigation and cleanup under the program, and examine cost recovery mechanisms available to the government and private parties. The webinar is intended to be a broad overview of the CERCLA program, suitable for people who have had little exposure to the program in the past.
