
Bringing the Heat: OSHA’s National Emphasis Program on Outdoor and Indoor Heat Related Hazards

OSHA is making heat illness and hazards a top priority with its Heat Hazard National Emphasis Program (NEP), which went into effect April 8. The agency will conduct proactive inspections for heat-related hazards “high-risk” industries, including a category that covers many facilities. We will discuss the following topics relevant to the Heat Hazard National Emphasis Program: Assessing the Workplace, Heat Related Illness-Outdoor and Indoor, Situational Awareness, Building a Better Heat Stress Program, Training. These program points will be unpacked to aid in reducing heat-related illnesses, reducing incidents, and ensuring your business is in compliance with the new National Emphasis Program on Outdoor and Indoor Heat Related Hazards.
