Project Manager II (Tank Services)

JOB SUMMARY
Requires effective project administration knowledge and client communication (outward facing). Responsible for the overall technical and financial execution of a project. This includes developing costs and scopes per client requests, evaluating and contacting subcontractors, understanding roadblocks to project momentum and planning accordingly, preparing client deliverables, manage project expenses, and coordinating client progress meetings.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Provide coordination and field oversight of various projects including tank removals, installations, modifications, and excavations
- Manage projects to include directing the day-to-day activities of junior level staff and schedule and coordinate task resources
- Field work will be limited, but may include tank removal and installation, vendor management, delegation of permitting, HASP, invoicing, excavation oversight, client relationships and management
- Coordinate, manage, and schedule various subcontractors such as trucking, machinery, tank handlers, cranes, disposal facilities, and others as required for assigned projects
- Participate and lead internal and external project meetings (e.g., project kickoffs, project progress, etc.)
- Prepare project submittals
- Provide notification for public utility locates and schedule private utility locates
- Perform site safety inspections
- Perform daily record keeping and reporting of time/hours billed, and expenses
- Approve project invoices and prepare customer invoices
- Prepare project cost estimates, client proposals, and change orders
- Identify and procure cost efficient resources to complete project requirements
- Effectively communicate current project status and upcoming project needs to manager
- Develop new business opportunities through relationship with existing clients
- Supervise, train, and mentor team members
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Understand remedial construction techniques to include but not limited to UST closure projects, dig & haul projects, treatment system installations, soil mixing, plant decommissioning and demolition
- Wide ranging knowledge of OSHA construction standards and able to interpret regulations and guidance
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Project or similar
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Understand waste disposal regulations
- Customer-focused and results-oriented
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Recommended Experience: 7+ years construction; 5+ years supervision/management; environmental remediation experience is a plus
Certifications: OSHA 40-Hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response
Skills: Professional writing and customer communication
Additional requirements: Must have a valid driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and physically capable of operating vehicles safely.
This classification requires travel to various client locations resulting in occasional longer workdays; and may include extended and/or further travel, resulting in multiple days and overnights. Long-distance drives and air travel may be required.
JOB CONTEXT
Office/shop based in York, PA. Majority of work is within 2 hours of shop. Overnight travel on short and long-term assignments is required at times (approximately 25%-35%)
75% or more field/site visit travel (environmental job hazards), 25% office (controlled environment)
