A DAY IN THE LIFE

Picture a day where your passion for the environment transforms into hands-on action and impactful learning. As an Environmental Intern with us, your daily adventure unfolds with a blend of field exploration and office collaboration, offering a unique glimpse into the dynamic world of environmental consulting.

  1. Closure Intern – 70% office; 30% field
  • Work with coworkers and clients on environmental investigation and remediation projects; conduct field work to gather data, perform regulatory research, and prepare reports
  1. Compliance Intern – 75% office; 25% field
  • Work with industrial clients on regulatory, environmental, and health & safety compliance; gather data, perform regulatory research, prepare reports and permits
  1. Field Operations Intern – 90% field work; 10% office
  • Perform a diverse range of field work related to sampling, subsurface investigation and contamination, remedial operations, indoor air quality, and general construction
  1. Geology Intern – 75% office; 25% field
  • Interpret and document geologic and hydrogeologic data; evaluate field data, review and revise boring logs, prepare figures to summarize data, and write reports
  1. Transaction Intern – 70% field; 30% office
  • Perform site assessment activities and field inspections/investigation to identify and evaluate environmental risks on a property
  1. Water Resources Intern – 50% office; 50% field
  • Work with municipal and industrial clients to operate and maintain drinking water and wastewater systems; collect and analyze samples; develop hydrogeological models; prepare reports; draft proposals

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (may vary depending on position and location)
  1. Shadow various client site inspections, activities, and investigations
  2. Conduct historical research, data collection reports, and enter field notes from site reconnaissance and label photographs
  3. Provide production support: issue final reports, proposals, and other reports
  4. Assist writing reports related to various regulations and environmental site assessments
  5. Assist with completing air emissions calculations, interpreting lab results, and others
  6. Assist with soil boring, monitoring well, and soil-gas vapor point installation
  7. Assist with sampling of various substances/materials such as stormwater, groundwater, wastewater, soil, soil-gas, and indoor air
  8. Provide assistance on special projects, including data entry, research, spreadsheets, charts, tables, and marketing materials
  9. Understand a billable goal
