Director of Talent Management

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for assessing talent needs and addressing them through creative and forward-thinking acquisition, engagement, development, and retention programs. This position serves under the supervision and direction of the Principal of Talent Management.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Primary duties: Human Resources, Talent Management, Training and Development, Organizational Support, and Communication

  1. Human Resources
  • Direct and supervise all aspects of Human Resources including staffing, benefits, employee relations, class & comp, policy, compliance, training, and payroll.
  • Oversee recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding efforts for all service areas and offices
  • Work with Human Resources team and CFO to evaluate and implement benefit programs (health insurance, 401(k), life and disability, PTO, allowances, etc.).
  1. Talent Management
  • Provide professional advice and best practice recommendations to all levels of management in all areas of human resources.
  • Develop retention programs for all services areas and offices
  • Assist in development of optimal organization structure
  • Facilitate collaboration and communication between offices, service areas, and management teams
    • Lead the Office Leader Meeting
  • Participate on Advisory Board
  • Identify Company Leaders and create plans to develop their skills
  • Provide coaching to managers and leaders in the company
  • Oversee evaluation process and provide tools/assistance for managers to provide timely and relevant feedback
  • Ensure clear and effective communication to all stakeholders of Human Resources and Talent Management initiatives
  1. Training and Development
  • Oversee all Technical, Sales, and Management training programs within the company
  • Evaluate training needs of the organization by working with managers
  • Partner with leadership across service areas to evaluate and enhance workflows and processes
  • Assess training needs through formalized learning needs assessment
  • Partner in designing, developing, documenting, implementing, enhancing, and maintaining training materials and programs
  • Develop internal communications to support training
  • Identify target audience and customizing communication content, design, and leverage appropriate method
  • Develop and review post-training evaluation forms for all courses to analyze comments and improve training process and trainers
  1. Personnel Management
  • Manage and direct Human Resources and Talent Management personnel
  • Identify, coach, and mentor staff in the technical, administrative, and other activities required to successfully complete job
  • Serve as the direct supervisor of assigned personnel and provide regular performance reviews and use best practices to retain
  • Utilize career progressions to coach employees to positions for which they are best suited
  • Create/update job descriptions/PMGs, and Career Progressions
  • Develop and implement onboarding/training plan of new employees
  • Identify and develop future leaders of the company

  • Knowledge of personnel management, staffing, and employee relations
  • Knowledge of performance management and organizational development
  • Ability to effectively recruit, hire and motivate employees
  • Ability to forecast the hiring of personnel to support growth
JOB SPECIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in management, human resources, education, environmental science, environmental engineering, geology, hydrogeology, chemistry, construction management or a related field.

Recommended Experience: minimum of 7 years of human resources or management experience to include recruiting, hiring, retention, and corrective action of employees of all levels and experience.

Other combinations of education and experience that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.
