Forensic Investigations Using CSIA

Date and Time:
5/9/2018 at 3:00 PM, Duration: 45 Minutes

Environmental forensics can be valuable for investigating disputed environmental contamination. In this webinar, we will look at how Compound-Specific Isotope Analysis (CSIA) measures the small changes in the isotopic ratios of each contaminant compound and how they drive project decisions. Additionally, this presentation will show ways CSIA can answer the following fundamental questions, such as:

  • Do you have co-mingled plumes on a site?
  • Would it benefit to know the extent of degradation?
  • Do you need information about potential contaminant sources?
  • Do you need to determine the origin of identified chemicals?

We will also look at a case study where CSIA was used to gain more information about the plume characteristics for appropriate remediation and/or monitoring determinations.
