A Logical Approach to Safety Auditing
by Travis Bennett

Who is responsible for the facility's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 300 Log and where is it located? Where is the personal protective equipment (PPE) assessment for a given job? Are there any air permits for a given facility? If so, what are the monitoring requirements for the permitted emission units? These are just some of the many questions an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) professional is expected to know but in today’s fast-paced world, this is not always the case.

For a seasoned EHS professional, it can take time for them to get up to speed on their roles and responsibilities. The big questions for someone new into this position are how I can find out what is or is not being accomplished, either in totality or in the appropriate time. Furthermore, what documents/training is required and does it meet the requirements outlined by OSHA. In this Webinar on June 19, 2019, we will discuss the difference between a safety audit versus a safety inspection, the benefits of conducting a facility audit, defining a scope for the audit, document and information request, and recommendations based on findings.

In this Webinar you will learn:

  • What are leading indicators and how they demonstrate the need for a thorough review of the EHS policies and procedures,
  • What are the benefits for (third party) safety auditing,
  • The process of safety auditing,
  • Delivering the findings, and;
  • Following up the audit.
